Firstly, let's talk about why you are here...

The chances are you are suffering from symptoms and want to feel great again.

We've been there too (we really have!), we understand the struggle and how hard it is to find the answers you need.

You're not alone — Healthpath can give you the expert insight, support and guidance to get your health back on track.

What is the microbiome?

In simple terms, it is the ecosystem of over 40 trillion microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses that live in your body.

The majority of these mighty microbes live in your gut, where 70% of your immune system is located.

If you have a dysregulated microbiome, it can influence your immune system, mood, sleep, hormones, digestion, libido, overall feeling of wellness and even your brain!

Testing alone isn't enough - the key to good health is acting on your test results

Most gut test companies offer a less comprehensive test, and then leave you to interpret the results yourself.

But testing is complex and scientific — analysing test results properly and designing a plan that really improves your health needs expert knowledge.

Here at Healthpath, you can get all that and more.

We test for more biomarkers than anyone else, and make your test results easy to understand. Plus, our expertly-crafted, personalised health plans and packages help you finally feel your best.

A path to a better, healthier you.

That’s why we’re called Healthpath, and why thousands of doctors & practitioners recommend us.

Frequently asked questions

Which testing option is right for me?

We believe good health should be accessible to all, this is why we offer 3 different package options all with interest-free payments.

If you’ve been suffering from long-term symptoms and want the best support to achieve your health goals, we’d strongly recommend you choose our Package option which includes a personalised plan and call with one of our practitioners.

However, no matter which testing option you choose, you can be assured that you’re getting the most comprehensive gut test on the market, and all test results are reviewed by our team of experienced practitioners.

Can I upgrade my package after purchase?

Yes, if you’d like to upgrade to the Ultimate Plan or Ultimate Package please get in touch with our team at hello@healthpath.com.

Plese note: Adding a plan or health coaching call after your test purchase may be more expensive, so we strongly recommend you opt for the Ultimate Plan or Ultimate Package at the point of first purchase.

I don’t have any gut issues. Do I need to take this test?

Our gut does far more than digest our food. Amongst many other things, it plays a role in making our neurotransmitters, it influences our hormones and it’s also home to most of our immune system. What this means is that if something isn’t right in the gut, it can show up in a number of ways—headaches, skin conditions, joint pain and more. To look at it another way: there are very few conditions that can’t be helped by addressing the gut. If you recognise yourself in any of the symptoms listed above, it may be worth taking the test.

Who should take this test?

This test provides information that simply can’t be gathered from a questionnaire or consultation, which means it could prove insightful for anyone. It’s particularly helpful for those suffering from digestive complaints, skin conditions and autoimmune diseases, and any other symptoms listed above.

Is this test worth the money?

We certainly think so. At Healthpath, we value evidence and trust—and this applies to all our products. Unless something can genuinely help you, we have no interest in offering it. We understand it can seem strange to pay for health tests (especially in the UK), but we also think that your health is one of the most valuable investments you can make.

Do you ship outside the UK?

At the moment we only ship to UK addresses. If you have a special request, please feel free to get in touch.

What’s in the test kit?

1 x test instructions
1 x request form
1 x stool sample preparation system
2 x transport tubes
1 x shipping bag

How do I take this test?

You can download full instructions here.

Do I need to stop taking supplements or medications before taking this test?

You must not stop any medications in order to take this test. You should stop taking probiotics three days before taking the test, but other common supplements are unlikely to affect the results.

Is there anything I need to do before taking this test?

You must follow your normal diet a week before taking the test, as any dramatic changes in diet will lead to skewed results. You must also plan to take the test on Monday–Wednesday, as the samples can only be posted back to the lab on these days. For more information, you can download the test instructions here.

What should I do if I have a question or an issue with taking my sample?

If you have any questions or issues with taking your sample according to the instructions provided, it is important you contact us before you send your sample to the lab.

Healthpath cannot guarantee to intercept your sample once it arrives at the lab and so it may still be processed.

Contact us on hello@healthpath.com.

How long will it take to get my results?

Return your samples using the pre-paid returns envelope via post box (choose a priority post box where available). Your sample will be sent to our partner in London (please note the tracking number) and then sent to our lab in Germany. You will receive an update when it arrives in Germany 2- 5 working days after posting.

Your results will be posted on your online account a maximum of two weeks after you return your samples.

How do I view my results?

Simply log in to your Healthpath account here and click ‘Tests’. You’ll be able to access your results and personalised recommendations (if applicable) two weeks after returning your samples (sometimes sooner).

How will I know what my results mean?

All your results data is accompanied by clear, jargon-free explanations. Our practitioners also review all results and include a written summary of helpful insights.

Can I claim the cost of the test on my private health insurance?

It’s possible, though you’ll need to check the details of your insurance to see what’s included.

Can I buy a test for my child?

We do offer tests for children, but it’s important you work with a practitioner experienced in working with children.

Personalised, 1 to 1 support with a practitioner is safer and more effective when analysing test results for children and providing appropriate advice.

It is important to reach out to our team to discuss the test before you purchase.
