I started getting migraines in my 20s, which became more frequent, intense and not helped by medication. Other symptoms crept in: fatigue, digestive issues, intolerances and brain fog, to mention a few! I started studying nutrition in 2015 after using food changes to reduce my symptoms. I feel proud to work for a company whose mission is to help people in the same way.

My interest in health stems from a young age, when my family discovered I had an intolerance to dairy products, causing asthma, allergies and respiratory infections. With dietary changes, I no longer suffered these conditions that had previously plagued my health. This sparked a lifelong interest in nutrition, and with a calling to help others, I undertook my training in Nutritional Therapy. I love working in a company so passionate about bringing health to so many.

After following a period of chronic stress during my thirties, a viral infection was the tipping point that brought me to my knees. With conventional allopathic methods offering no answers or solutions to my debilitating symptoms, I made it my mission to take my health into my own hands. The more I learnt, the more my health improved. Being a Nutritional Therapist enables me to support individuals who are also embarking on a health journey and taking a more holistic approach to health.

I was born with severe food allergies and eczema, then developed an autoimmune disease aged 10. Later in life, I struggled with weight gain, fatigue and low mood, which I know now was due to poor thyroid function. This all impacted heavily on my quality of life, and with only temporary fixes from conventional medicine, I started to dig deeper to understand and fix the root cause of my health issues. Training to become a Nutritional Therapist was the best decision I could have ever made, empowering me to take charge of my health, and fuelling a passion to help others do the same.

Nutritional therapy arrived in my life as a tool to support myself and my dearest ones in their health journeys, finding answers and relief where conventional treatment couldn’t help us. My journey in naturopathic medicine has allowed me to tune deeper into my body and improve both my physical and mental health. Having suffered from skin and digestive issues, I was prompted to look for their root causes. Becoming a nutritional therapist and educating myself further around the brain-gut connection has been the greatest tool of all, and I feel pure joy in empowering others to do the same.

After witnessing the pain and frustration of family members suffering from chronic conditions, I began to question the efficiency of the current healthcare system. During the years, I also experienced digestive, autoimmune and skin disorders, that seemed impossible to solve. After completing my training and seeing how my conditions improved with nutritional and naturopathic adjustments, I became motivated to share my knowledge with the world.

Growing up on a farm gave me a sense of connection to where my food came from. The kitchen was my happy place where i spent hours expressing my creativity. In my early 20’s, I stared to suffer from digestive imbalances which lead me to train to become a Naturopath. A journey of healing and self discovery, practicing the knowledge and holistic therapies I had learnt to heal myself and help others. With Healthpath, I am grateful for being part of a community dedicated to healing and self transformation.

Numerous antibiotics as a child, years of bloating and gastrointestinal issues, a stressful job in the city, two redundancies, and fertility issues ultimately led me to studying nutrition and functional medicine. It was life-changing in many ways. I am so thankful that it led me to better health, having my children, and the opportunity to work in such a fantastic, caring company alongside such brilliant, knowledgeable colleagues.

I have always been interested in understanding the human body in health and disease. Over the years I have developed a passion for fusing medical sciences with psychology and coaching to help people develop the knowledge and the tools to be healthy in what is becoming an increasingly unhealthy world. There is always so much to learn and I love that I learn so much from my Healthpath colleagues and clients.

As a child growing up in the countryside, I was naturally driven towards healthy plantbased foods and fresh air. After experiencing food poisoning when working abroad I developed chronic gut issues and so embarked on my own exploration of how to mend my gut and the art of detoxfication. Seeing successful results led me down the path of studying Nutrition as a degree in order to assist others in understanding the empowering nature of working on restoring ones own health by working holistically. Joining Health Path has been the icing on the cake. Being in team of supportive and passionate Health Practitioners is like finding your tribe.

My lifelong interest in the human body has led me to a dedicated career of 30+ years in health and wellbeing. I’ve never stopped studying, learning and teaching to support others on their health journey. Nutrition is fundamental, along with hypnotherapy to support behaviour change and positive mental health. I’m still as excited and passionate today, as I was when I started.

As a child my continuous ill health led to a hospital stay and a cocktail of medications. In desperation my parents took me to see a herbalist. During 12 months of herbal treatment and dietary improvements my health and happiness returned! This sowed a seed of love and fascination for natural, plant medicines. For 20 years I’ve been practicing as a medical herbalist and have later qualified as a nutritional therapist. I feel very privileged that I’m able share this knowledge with others a be a step on their healing journey.

Healthpath was born from personal experience. Our founder, Richard Nehme, knows what it’s like to live with debilitating symptoms.
Says Richard: “I suffered from back pain from an early age. The pain intensified over time and slowly gave way to a host of other symptoms, including tiredness, depression and severe gut issues. I spent ten years surviving on painkillers, sleeping tablets and laxatives. And I just couldn’t get any answers from my GP, beyond a repeat prescription.
When I found the answers—using a Functional Medicine approach—it revolutionised my life. I went from expecting to take a pill to realising that my symptoms had a root cause and my lifestyle needed shifting. It took time and dedication, but I am now symptom-free and happier than ever.
My own healthpath helped me to see that there are millions of people around the world suffering unnecessarily from all types of chronic conditions. Functional Medicine represents a credible solution. I have made it my mission to bring about this much-needed, accessible approach to Functional Medicine, so everyone can receive the support they need—and enjoy a much shorter path back to health.”
Functional Medicine is a pioneering approach to healthcare that aims to put you in the driving seat. Whereas conventional medicine waits until something is wrong and then manages the symptoms, Functional Medicine is solution-focused. Through considering your diet, lifestyle and biochemical uniqueness, it enables you to address the root cause of a problem.
We see ourselves as a complement to your GP. Your GP has just a few minutes provide you with the best-possible advice, which usually centres around symptom-management. There’s more that can be done. We take the time to learn about you and your lifestyle, giving you personalised advice that addresses the root causes of your symptoms. We’re not knocking GPs—they deserve enormous respect—but we aim to give people an option that goes beyond symptom-management. That being said, you should never ignore medical advice. If you suspect you have a medical problem, always consult your GP first.
That’s a good question, and we applaud you for being discerning about your health. You don’t need to take our word for it. Visit BANT to see the profiles of our accredited practitioners and check out the listings on The Institute for Functional Medicine. We’re proudly evidence-based, so you can explore the primary research we’re reading on our Blog. Most importantly, any representative that you speak to at Healthpath has experienced their own health challenge—so we know how you feel. Healthpath is a purpose-driven company. We want to help you.
