Why is gut health so important?

Your gut does far more than digest your food. Amongst many other things, it plays a role in making your neurotransmitters, it influences your hormones and it’s also home to most of your immune system. This means that if something isn’t right in your gut, it can show up in a number of ways—headaches, skin conditions, joint pain and more. To look at it another way: there are very few conditions that can’t be helped by addressing the gut. If you recognise yourself in any of the symptoms listed above, the Gut Health Program may help.

How long is the Gut Health Program?

The Gut Health Program is delivered over 12 weeks. It’s self-paced, so you can watch the videos and use the resources in your own time. You can get support at any time by logging into the community forum.

How is the Gut Health Program delivered?

During the program, you get a weekly email introducing you to the new content. You can log into your dashboard to watch the videos and download the recipes and other resources. All you need is an internet connection.

How much of my time will I need to dedicate to the Gut Health Program?

Each week’s video is 5–10 minutes. You may wish to spend some time going through your extra resources, but this should take no longer than a few minutes a day. Depending on which meals you choose to cook, you may spend 15 to 30 minutes on food prep each day. Do what you feel you can manage. The idea is to make small, sustainable shifts in your eating habits and lifestyle.

Is the Gut Health Program suitable for vegans/vegetarians?

Absolutely. You can choose the version of the meal plan that suits you at the beginning of your program.

Will this program solve my IBS?

It depends on your starting point. We can’t promise that you’ll resolve all of your digestive issues within 12 weeks, but we do know that the knowledge and tools you’ll learn will set you firmly on the right path. Please note, it’s important you don’t self-diagnose IBS. If you have any gut issues, check in with your GP first.

Is this different to my GP’s advice?

Healthpath’s Gut Health Program is designed to complement your GP. Your GP has just a few minutes provide you with the best-possible advice, which usually centres around symptom-management. There’s more that can be done. The Gut Health Program goes deep into your eating habits, your stress levels, your sleep and your activity—helping you feel great again. We’re not knocking GPs—they deserve enormous respect—but we aim to give people an option that goes beyond symptom-management. That being said, you should never ignore medical advice. If you have any queries about how dietary and lifestyle changes may impact your current treatment plan, it’s important you speak to your doctor.
